PRAKTIK TRANSAKSI JUAL BELI SISTEM DROPSHIPPING PADA MARKETPLACE SHOPEE DALAM PERSPEKTIF EKONOMI ISLAM

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mechanisms of dropshipping practices on the Shopee marketplace and to examine their compliance with the principles of Islamic economics. The method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach through interviews and literature review. The results show that the dropshipping mechanism on Shopee has been implemented in accordance with established procedures, from supplier selection to the shipping process using the Send as Dropshipper feature. This mechanism aligns with the characteristics of the samsarah contract, in which the dropshipper acts as an intermediary who earns a profit from the price difference without needing to directly own the goods. However, in practice, several issues remain, including discrepancies between the goods and their descriptions, the ownership of the goods not yet having been transferred to the dropshipper, and the potential for tadlis due to a lack of transparency regarding the dropshipper’s status. When viewed in light of DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 145/DSN-MUI/XII/2021, this practice has demonstrated compliance regarding the supplier’s authorization. Thus, the practice of dropshipping on the Shopee marketplace is permitted provided it is conducted with honesty, transparency, and clarity regarding the responsibilities of all parties involved.
